Location and Ecosystem
Galeriç Forest is one of Turkey's rare floodplain (subasar) forests, located within the Kızılırmak Delta in Samsun's 19 Mayıs district, near Yörükler neighborhood. Its deciduous trees stand in ground that is completely covered by water in spring.
Biodiversity
As part of the Kızılırmak Delta Bird Paradise and situated along major bird migration routes, Galeriç Forest is exceptionally rich in biodiversity, hosting numerous songbird species during nesting season. In spring, daisies blooming across the flooded forest floor create a striking visual display.
Visitor Information
Ideal for nature photography, birdwatching, and canoe trips, the forest is most spectacular between March and May when water levels rise. It forms part of the Kızılırmak Delta, included on UNESCO's World Heritage Tentative List.

Together with other wetlands of the Kızılırmak Delta such as Balık Lake and Karaboğaz Lake, Galeriç Forest forms an important part of the region's rich nature-tourism potential.
