Location
Nebiyan Plateau lies about 30 kilometers south of the 19 Mayıs district center, on the slopes of Nebiyan Mountain, at an elevation of 1,224 meters. One of Samsun's highest plateaus, it reflects the typical character of a Black Sea yayla with its wide meadows, dense forests, and cool air.
Nature and Local Life
The plateau has natural springs that stay ice-cold even in summer, and it is known for the locally grown Nebiyan bean. While livestock graze the pastures, camping areas and hiking trails are also available for visitors.
Visitor Information
About 45 kilometers from Samsun city center, the plateau is reached via the Samsun-Sinop highway to 19 Mayıs district, followed by a signposted road. It also hosts a nature and youth festival held during the summer months.
Scenery and Activities
The forested hills surrounding the plateau offer striking views at sunrise and sunset. Flat clearings are suitable for tent camping, and the plateau is a popular escape for visitors seeking relief from summer heat.
