A Recreation Area Within the Black Sea Forest
Çakırlar Grove is a long-established recreation area in Samsun's Atakum district, located about 15-19 kilometers from the city center and surrounded by the typical damp forest cover of the Black Sea region. It is known as one of Samsun's oldest picnic and nature-walking spots.
Wooden Bridges and Waterside Walks
Within the grove, wooden walking bridges cross over ponds and wetland areas, guiding visitors along a pleasant route through the forest. The waterside paths are well suited to nature photography and birdwatching.
Camping and Social Facilities
Thanks to its proximity to the city and forest setting, the grove is suitable for tent camping and also offers tennis courts, shower cabins, a small mosque, restrooms, and sheltered picnic areas. In summer it draws both day-trip picnickers and camping enthusiasts.
