History and Location
Fener Beach takes its name from the lighthouse ("fener") on the shore and lies in an area once used as a harbour in Genoese times, in the Cedit neighborhood west of Samsun. Situated right next to Batıpark, the beach is about 2 kilometres from the city centre.
Features
Measuring 235 metres long and 48 metres wide, the beach is known for its fine, clean sand and can accommodate roughly 1,100 visitors at a time. It has held the Blue Flag since 2016 and sits right beside a five-star hotel.
Access
Fener Beach is easily reached by tram, bus, shared minibus (dolmuş) or private car; together with the adjoining Batıpark, where sea and greenery meet, it is one of the most popular spots on the İlkadım shoreline.
