Overview

Lake Ladik is a natural lake on the northern slopes of Akdağ, within Samsun's Ladik district. Located about 65 kilometers from central Samsun, the lake covers roughly 870 hectares. Dense pine forest surrounding the shore and the silhouette of Akdağ rising behind it make the lake one of the most visited natural spots in the region.

Nature and Activities

A walking trail of about 7 kilometers runs along the shoreline, offering a suitable route for hikers. Thanks to its calm water, the lake is also suited to light water sports such as canoeing and rowing; a wooden pier and lakeside paths let visitors spend time close to the water. There are also good spots for fishing.

Visitor Information

Picnic areas and rest spots line the shore of Lake Ladik, and the light reflecting on the water at sunset draws photography enthusiasts in particular. Together with nearby Ladik Plateau and the Akdağ Ski Center, the area can easily be combined into a single day trip.
