Bayraktepe Nature Park

Overview

Bayraktepe Nature Park, designated a nature park in 2015, is located in Tekkeköy district. It sits about 10 kilometers from central Samsun and roughly 4 kilometers from the Tekkeköy district center. Covering approximately 132 hectares, the park is dominated by beech, hornbeam and oak forest.

Historical Value

Rising in the southern part of the park, Karadağ Hill and its surroundings contain the remains of the old Samsun Castle, making it an important archaeological area with registered protected-site status.

Facilities and Activities

The park offers a countryside restaurant, gazebos, picnic tables, a basketball court, a small mosque, a snack bar, exercise equipment, a children's playground, and cycling and walking trails. Visitors can enjoy picnicking, nature walks, cycling tours, photography and observing local flora and fauna. An entrance fee applies, varying by vehicle type.
