Gümenez

Yakakent's Seafront

Yakakent, Samsun's only coastal district, was formerly called Gümenez before being renamed in 1963 to a name meaning "coastal town." The old name is still used locally for the district's shoreline.

Promenade and Walking Track

A roughly 4-kilometer stretch of coastline offers a dedicated walking path facing the Black Sea, popular at sunset with both residents and visitors.

Hotels and Local Life

Hotels, guesthouses and cafés line the shore, turning Yakakent into a lively summer destination, with the fishing harbor and nearby restaurants offering local Black Sea cuisine.

Getting There

Yakakent sits on the Samsun-Sinop highway and is reachable by regular bus service from the city center; the shoreline is within walking distance of the town center.
